Make-up looks we love for New Year’s Eve

Christmas is officially done and dusted for another year, but that doesn’t mean all the festive season parties have finished just yet. There’s still one big one left, which we’re sure you haven’t forgotten about…New Year’s Eve! We’re sure you have your dress, your shoes, and your jewels all picked out. But what about your makeup? It can make or break a look after all. We’ve pulled together our top 3 favourite looks to give you a little inspiration for your dazzling night.

The Super Sultry Eyes

This look is all about impact. A super dark pigmented shadow always helps to create that sultry, vampy look we know and love for evenings. Keep it lighter in the corner of your eyes to keep your eyes looking nice and open, and complete the look with thick, long lashes for a bit of wow-factor. Our top tip with this look is to make sure your base is flawless as any discolouration or imperfections will throw strong eye looks off. We want these eyes to be sultry all night long.

The Glitz, Glam, Pop of Colour

Coloured lipsticks are so IN right now. And rightly so! Choose a lipstick that really complements your skin tone and will suit your outfit. Pair those bright, pouty lips with a pop of colour on your eyes. This look really brings out the green in the model’s eyes as purple is a complementary colour for green eyes. Do some research and figure out what colours will make your baby blues, browns or greens pop, then finish off the look with a dusting of glitter for that NYE-esque finish.

The New Classic

What’s old is new again. This look is perfect for the NYE girl with a bit of vintage style. Red, vampy lips are always a perfect option for any night out, but paired with muted, neutral eyeshadow, a flick of brightening gold in the inner corners and a striking dash of liquid liner on the upper lids will have you feeling very 1900’s in a good way! Our suggestion? Flick the liquid liner out even further to create a cute cat-eye look.
